About Us
DEDICATED INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors are all certified in firearms instruction and safety through NRA certified courses and/or DOJ certifications to teach their disciplines. We are active members of the local shooting sports community.
Equipment
We can provide you with training in firearms safety, offer NRA certified courses, or supply safe, top-quality name brand equipment to help you start your journey into shooting sports.
Ammunition
We are licensed to sell ammunition and complete ammunition transfers in the State of California. While we do not sell to the general public, we receive regular shipments and can also special order the ammunition needed to support your training or personal use in shooting sports. Please place your order when scheduling your training session, especially if you are participating in our NRA certified courses that emphasize firearms safety.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Beginning Holster Class
This class will review the NRA Basic Gun Safety 'Always' Rules and introduce students to basic safe gun holster use, emphasizing firearms safety throughout the course. This NRA certified course includes live fire drills, allowing participants to draw from an OWB (outside the waistband) holster without concealment. Contact us to reserve a spot in the next beginning holster class and join in on the excitement of shooting sports. Space is limited.
Intermediate Holster Class
This class will review the NRA Basic Gun Safety 'Always' Rules and enhance students' understanding of safe gun holster use, vital for firearms safety. This course includes live fire drills, focusing on drawing from an OWB (outside the waistband) holster without concealment, and will transition to techniques for drawing from OWB concealment. Contact us to reserve a spot in the next beginning holster class, part of our NRA certified courses in shooting sports. Space is limited.
Private Class New Shooter Seminar
This event is a private class offering the NRA certified course, the 'New Shooter Seminar,' designed for first-time or novice shooters. Join us to learn about firearms safety and get started in shooting sports. Contact us to schedule this course, as space is limited.
Skill Builder Class
This class will review the NRA Basic Gun Safety 'Always' Rules, reinforce firearms safety through enhanced gun handling skills developed in earlier lessons, and present higher level decision-making and target selection processes. This course is designed for both pistol and rifle enthusiasts and includes classroom instruction as well as live fire drills to enhance your understanding of shooting sports. CRPA supports Raahauges Scouting Adventure
GVFTA lead Instructor, Gil Vargas, provided essential firearms safety training and basic rifle instruction to over 600 new, novice, and experienced Scout shooters during this event on Saturday, April 30, and Sunday, May 01, 2022. He served as a volunteer instructor and range safety officer for the firearms portion of this BSA Regional training and merit badge qualification event, coordinated by CRPA. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to explore NRA certified courses in shooting sports. GVFTA congratulates all the merit badge earners and welcomes all the new and novice shooters to the 2A community.
INSTRUCTOR DEVELOPMENT
Instruction personnel participate in regular training to prepare for the offering of new NRA certified courses or expanding the schedule of current classes, including those focused on firearms safety and shooting sports. There are no classes offered on those dates which will be posted here. Professional Development Scheduled: FIRST AID CPR upcoming date.
Personal Reliance Workshops
The staff and students recently participated in the "Gunshot Lifesaver" training, led by course developer and owner Lary Townson from TM Productions. This essential training covered gunshot and stabbing incidents, along with basic trauma treatment, emphasizing the importance of firearms safety. We are also scheduling additional NRA certified courses to further enhance our students' knowledge in emergency preparedness and awareness, particularly in the context of shooting sports.
